April 30, 2010 Invitation : Annual General Assembly
All AHMVD members are invited to the annual General Assembly to be held at the Centre Communautaire de Vaudreuil-Dorion situated at rue Louise-Josephte in Vaudreuil-Dorion on May 5th, 2010 at 7pm.
Administrators will present activity reports for the 2009-2010 season, elections will be held for positions on the 2010-2011 Board, and the evening will conclude with a question period.
The meeting will start with a short ceremony to thank the Midget players who are ending their minor hockey career this season.

April 9, 2010 Novice B Vikings Champions in Beauharnois !
Congratulations to the Novice B Vikings for winning the championship of the Beauharnois Tournament on March 28th. The Vikings were also finalists in the 2010 Playoffs. Great job and good luck in the Vaudreuil-Dorion Tournament !

March 25, 2010 The Pee-Wee A Titans are LHVS Champions !
The Titans won the Pee-Wee A 2010 Playoff final 4-3 in overtime against the HRS Hawks on Sunday March 21st, allowing only 3 goals in the playoffs, all in this last game. Earlier that day, they had won their first game in the Regionals 4-3 in a shootout against the Marquis de Pierrefonds. We can be proud of our kids for this wonderful season, winning 2 out of 3 tournaments. We thank our coaching team for their dedication, our players for their collective involvement, and the parents for their support through this fantastic season, full of memories.

We are looking for someone with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word or Publisher to prepare the official program of the Vaudreuil-Dorion Novice Tournament. The work involves between twelve and fifteen hours of work and needs to be done this week since the tournament starts next Saturday, March 27th, and that the final product has to get printed before then. March 11, 2010 Novice B Pirates continue their string of success in 2010 !
After wining the NAP Tournament in Soulanges, the Pirates were finalists of the Tournoi Provincial de Gatineau on March 7th. They also won the Most Disciplined Team award. The team also finished first in the league, with only 2 losses during the regular season. They will represent the Trois-Lacs region at the Lac St-Louis Regional championships. Congratulations and good luck to the Pirates !!
March 8, 2010 Volunteers wanted for the Novice Tournament
The Vaudreuil-Dorion Novice Tournament celebrates its 26th anniversary this year. We are looking for volunteers to make it a success. The tournament raises funds for the AHMVD development program, while allowing kids to play a sport they like. February 25, 2010 A banner for the Bantam B Titans, finalists in DDO
On February 14th, the Bantam B Titans came very close to a championship in the DDO Tournament when they lost 2-1 in the final game against the Varennes Wildcats. Congratulations to the Titans' players for this excellent performance !
February 20, 2010 Pee-Wee B Titans win the Soulanges NAP tournament !
Congratulations to the players of the Pee-Wee B Titans who won the Soulanges NAP Tournament in St-Polycarpe on February 7th. This was a great team win !
February 10, 2010 A second banner for the Pee-Wee A Titans !
After winning the championship of the Montréal Centre-Sud tournament last November, the Pee-Wee A Titans repeated the feat on February 7th at the NAP Provincial Tournament in Soulanges. In the Final game, the Titans won against the Lakeshore Jaguars, the team that had beaten them 3-1 in their first game. The Titans never gave up and decided to play as a team to reach the Final. To every fan's surprise, family and friends, the Titans beat the Jaguars 5 to 3. Notice the smiles, the joy and the pride on all the players' faces. Priceless. Don't give up Titans, the season is not over.

January 25, 2010 The Midget B Vikings, finalists in Châteauguay
Congratulations to the Midget B Vikings, finalists in the Châteauguay tournament, having lost 4-2 in the final (last goal in an empty net). On top of having won the title of Most disciplined team, their goalie Olivier Mathieu-Boutin was named the tournament's All Category Most outstanding goalie ! Congratulations !

December 12, 2009 Compressed air horns
We have received complaints in the past weeks regarding some fans cheering for their team using a compressed air horn during LHVS games. We would like to remind you that the use of these horns is forbidden by a Hockey Québec rule detailed below. Your team could be given a penalty and you could even be expelled from the arena. Please act accordingly for everyone's enjoyment.
7.7.7 Use of Horn is forbidden: The use of horns driven by compressed air or batteries is forbidden during games under the jurisdiction of Hockey Quebec.

or anyone involve is mandatory for all on-ice activities. We therefore ask you to comply with this rule as of now.
No exceptions will be permitted.

It is mandaroty that any person acting as a coach, assistant, facilitator or an
intervener during an on-ice practice, an on-ice clinic or involving players and / or
coaches under Hockey Quebec jurisdiction wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet.
December 31, 2009 An invitation from the Mustangs !
The Mustangs are inviting 12 lucky goaltenders to participate in a Goalie clinic with its two goalies, and Mr. Benoit Pépin, Mustang's goalie coaches. There will be a draw to select the 12 goalies. Winners will be contacted by phone.
The Mustangs are also inviting one team from AHMVD to take part in a practice with its players.
To participate to either the clinic or the practice with the Mustang's players, you need to register by email at amusementaml@videotron.ca by leaving your team's name, its category and the coordinates of a contact person (phone and/or email).
The goalie clinic will be held on January 10th between 3pm and 4pm at the Vaudreuil arena. The team practice will also be held on January 10th, between 4pm and 5pm at the Vaudreuil arena.
The Mustangs are also inviting you to cheer the Aigles de Trois Lacs Bantam AA for a friendly game at 5pm immediately following the other two events. December 22, 2009 Family skating session and Volunteer Game
AHMVD is pleased to invite you to a free family skating session. This event will be held on December 26th, at the Cité des Jeunes arena between 5pm and 6:30pm. Dads, Moms, sisters and brothers and welcome, and it's free!
The only conditions: an adult needs to be present on the ice at all times, and helmets are mandatory for everyone!
Also, for all interested volunteers, we have reserved the rink at Cité des Jeunes on December 26th between 6:30pm and 8pm for a friendly hockey game for coaches, assistant coaches, managers and assistant managers. Helmets are mandatory for everyone! There's no need to confirm, simply show up for the game. Enjoy the game and Happy Holidays to all !

The Bantam A Titans invite Bantam, Pee-Wee and Atom players to a "Bout de Souffle" tournament to benefit their team.
Monday December 28th: Pee-Wee and Bantam from 9am to 2pm at the Vaudreuil arena, cost $30 (lunch included).

December 7, 2009 Celebrate the Olympic Torch in Vaudreuil-Dorion
As part of the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Torch Relay will make a stop in Vaudreuil-Dorion tomorrow, December 8th. To celebrate this exceptional event, you are invited to a public gathering between 5-6 PM in two areas: Parc Valois and the Cité-des-Jeunes field. Please read the attached document from the city of Vaudreuil-Dorion and share the news with your friends. This will be a memorable event and a unique day for everyone. We hope to see you in large numbers.

If you have ordered winter jackets, track suits and jersey covers, you will be able to pick up your purchases this Saturday, December 5th 2009 at the Vaudreuil Arena between 9AM and noon. It will also be possible to buy tuques, caps and T-Shirts and to order more products, except for winter jackets. However we have some sizes in inventory. First come, first serve !

By purchasing raffle tickets, you have a chance to win:

It's back to standard time between Saturday and Sunday. It's recommended that you take this opportunity to change your fire detectors' batteries. This simple action, once a year, can save lives.
October 16, 2009 AHMVD clothing sale and measuring session
We will have a measuring session and sale of AHMVD winter jackets, tuques, caps, etc, on Saturday October 31st between 8:00am and noon at the Vaudreuil Arena. A 50% deposit will be required upon ordering, with the balance payable on delivery.
October 16, 2009 2009-2010 Season kickoff
To all coaches, assistant coaches, and AHMVD team managers.
You are invited to a special evening organized in your honour by the AHMVD Hockey Committee.
The evening will be held on Thursday October 22nd, at the Opti-Centre St-Jean-Baptiste located at 145 Harwood Blvd in Vaudreuil-Dorion (besides Domon) at 7:00pm.
In order to make this event a success, we ask that you assign a minimum of two people per team to be present, although we hope to see every coach, assistant coach and manager.
Snacks and beverages will be available. In order to plan the evening, we ask that you confirm the number of attendees by email to Jeanie Harbour at registraire@ahmvd.ca as soon as possible.

October 3, 2009 Preventative measures against the A(H1N1) virus
Hockey Québec has announced new measures related to the handshake rule following games.
The rule says: "Immediately after the game, after having received the signal from the official, the two teams will shake hands"
From now on and until further notice, the rule is changed for : "Immediately after the game, after having received the signal from the official, the two teams will shake hands but keeping their gloves on."
We ask that our coaches comply with this new measure. Thank you !
October 3, 2009 Reminder - Mouth Guard
We would like to remind you that mouth guards are mandatory for all players Novice to Midget, for games and practices. Players that are not complying may end up with a 2 minute penalty during a game if the mouth guard is not worn correctly, and even a game misconduct if a player is not wearing one. We are counting on our coaches to ensure it is worn during practices. This is for our kids' safety.
Also, Hockey Québec has modified the rule for goalies. Starting with the 2008-2009 season, goalies don't have to wear a mouth guard.

Please note that the single letter camps schedules are now published in the Schedules section.
Please note that a $20 cash deposit will be requested in exchange for a jersey that will be given to the players. This deposit will be reimbursed upon returning the jerseys at the end of the camps. Also, in levels Atom and up, only single letter players will be admitted to these camps.

À tous les entraîneurs, entraîneurs-adjoints et coordonnateurs, veuillez prendre note qu’il y aura une conférence, jeudi le 20 novembre 2008 à 19h30 à l’opti-centre de Vaudreuil-Dorion.
Nous aurons l’honneur d’avoir la présence de M. Gaston Therrien, analyste à l’émission Sports 30 et analyste au réseau RIS. M. Therrien a aussi après sa carrière de hockey, passé du temps en Europe comme joueur entraîneur et comme Directeur gérant.
M.Therrien vous entretiendra sur ses expériences en gestion générale d’équipe, la préparation de parties et pratiques et la communication avec le personnel et joueurs.
Cette rencontre des plus intéressantes est organisée pour vous, chers entraîneurs et adjoints. Votre présence est donc requise afin que vous puissiez transmettre cette belle expérience à nos jeunes.
